Jaipur boy Nalin Khandelwal is NEET 2019 topper

Jaipur: NEET 2019 result was announced on Wednesday. Jaipur boy Nalin Khandelwal made the city proud by achieving the All India Rank 1. He secured 701 marks out of 720. His parents, family member and friends were overjoyed when the results were announced and he was declared India topper.
Nalin’s father Rakesh Khandelwal and mother Vinita are doctors. The family originally hails from Sikar town, but lives in Jaipur. His elder brother is also pursuing MBBS.
Bhavik Bansal from Delhi and Akshat Kaushik from Uttar Pradesh secured second and third ranks with 700 marks. Of the top 10 students, six were from Kota coaching institutes, according to preliminary reports. Over 4.45 lakh boys and 3.51 lakh girls cleared the NEET 2019. About 15.20 lakh students registered for NEET this year. Of them, 14.10 lakh appeared in the exam.
The exam was conducted on May 5 and May 20 in 11 languages including English, Hindi and Urdu. The cut-off marks for general category were 134 this year. They were 119 last year. Over 7.97 lakh students have qualified for counselling this year compared to 7.14 lakh last year.
The NEET is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in medical and dental colleges approved by the Medical Council of India and the Dental Council of India.
Friends, neighbors and relatives thronged Nalin’s house after the results were declared and congratulated the topper and his parents for the feat.
