Jaipur: ACB arrests assistant commercial tax officer (ACTO) for taking bribe

Jaipur: In a major trap, the Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested assistant commercial tax officer (ACTO) Kuldeep Godara after he was was allegedly caught taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a garment shop owner.
The trap was organized at the regional sales tax office in Jaipur. An ACB spokesperson said that Godara was demanding the bribe to release tax refunds to the trader.
The trader approached the ACB following which a complaint was registered. They started investigating the complaint and when it was verified, a trap was laid.
Kuldeep allegedly asked the ACB complainant to come to his office in the regional sales tax building. As soon as the complainant handed over the bribe, the ACB team arrested him and booked him under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The bribe amount was Rs 50,000, the spokesperson said.
A search was going on at Kuldeep Godara’s office, residence and several other places.
