Jaipur: 4-year-old girl raped in Kanota, youth arrested

Pawan Raiger who allegedly raped a 4-year-old girl in Kanota
Jaipur: A 20-year-old man, identified as Pawan, was arrested for raping a 4-year-old girl living in the neighborhood in Kanota area. The girl was violated to such an extent that she is now battling for life at JK Lon Hospital in Jaipur. The accused was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when he raped the girl who was playing hide-and-seek with his two siblings near their house. The victim knew Pawan.
Pawan originally hails from Lalsot in Dausa and stays in a rented accommodation near Kanota Dam. He works at brick manufacturing unit as a loader. He was drunk when he returned home on Monday night. He saw the girl playing with her four-year-old brother and two-year-old sister. He started raping the girl. The siblings went to their house, shouting for help.
When the mother came to the spot on hearing the cries, Pawan fled from the spot, leaving the girl bleeding from her private parts.
The girl started complaining about pain in her stomach and neck. The parents took the girl to nearby police station. The police rushed her to SMS Hospital from where doctors referred her to JK Lon Hospital.
“We have to know that the girl know the rapist. She used to address her as uncle, so when he approached her, she thought that he would play with her,” said a police officer.
The girl had enrolled in a school recently and went to attend the classes for the first time on Monday. She was still in her school uniform when Pawan raped her.
Local residents were infuriated over the incident and demanded capital punishment for the accused.
