Jaipur: 3 arrested for duping 11,000 unemployed youths

The accused men promised people jobs in agriculture companies across the country.

Jaipur: The city police have arrested three men for duping thousands of people in the name of employment. By using the logos of central government and agricultural department, the accused promised job opportunities to nearly 11,000 unemployed people. These men have reportedly taken about Rs 80 lakh from those people by coaxing them into believing that they would be given jobs in some of the best agricultural companies across the country.

The three men were nailed by the Jaipur police after they arrived in the city for taking interviews of different candidates. The officials of the commissionerate crime branch disguised as candidates and attended the interview process which was being held in Neelam Hotel located on Motilal Atal Road. The accused were identified as Manish Panchal, Sameer Dikshit and Deepak Verma who are employees of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Corporation, Indore, MP. The police have seized their ids, laptop, and some other important documents. The police are on the lookout for the company directors Avinash Ajmer and Pankaj Verma.

Crime Branch SI, Dharam Singh stated that while the interview process was being conducted on Wednesday, some of the candidates had doubts about the legitimacy of the interviewers hence complained to the police about it. Some of the police constables later got involved in the interview process at the hotel and after observing everything for nearly two hours, they arrested the accused and took them to Jolpura police station.

One of the candidates who was a victim of the activity stated that the company website used logos of Central Government and Agricultural Department hence people trusted it and paid Rs 700 each to fill up the interview form. This man named Bharat Sharma further stated that once he got the interview letter he arrived in Jaipur from his city Shahpura however he doubted the accused after he was informed about the position and salary being offered by the three men. After this, he complained to the police about the entire episode.

After an initial investigation, it has come to light that the accused company has no license from the Central Government. The company only has a license to sell Manure Seeds which it got from the Indore Nagar Nigam. These people have conducted interviews in Bihar, Kota and were planning to do so in Jaipur until October 29.
