Jaipur: 19-year-old engineering student commits suicide

Vishesh was a resident of Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh. He was a BTech third year student at a private engineering college and was staying at a rented accommodation along with his cousin.

Jaipur: A 19-year-old engineering student, identified as Vishesh Porwal, committed suicide by hanging himself at his rented accommodation in Ashish Nagar of Pratap Nagar area on Saturday night. The police didn’t find any suicide note from the spot. They are investigating as to what caused Vishesh to take the extreme step.

Vishesh was a resident of Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh. He was a BTech third year student at a private engineering college and was staying at a rented accommodation along with his cousin.

“His cousin left home to attend coaching classes on Saturday evening. A friend of Vishesh living in the neighborhood came to see him. The friend found the door locked from outside. He called up the neighbors who broke open the door and found Vishesh Porwal hanging,” said a police officer.

The police officer added that the neighbors called the police following which a team from Pratap Nagar police station rushed to the spot. They got Vishesh down and took him to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The body was put in the mortuary of the hospital for a postmortem examination. It was handed over to the family members on Sunday.

“We are examining the call record details to ascertain what caused Vishesh to commit suicide. We will also record the statement of his teachers, friends and family members. Further investigation is going on,” said the officer.

The family left for their native place with the body after the postmortem examination.
