Jaipur: The Committee of Administrators (CoA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the first scheduled for the 12th season of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 on Tuesday. The schedule of the second phase will be announced after the dates for upcoming Lok Sabha elections will be confirmed.
The IPL 2019 will commence on March 23 at Chennai. MS Dhoni’s team Chennai Super Kings will play the season’s opening match with ICT captain Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore.

All the franchises will host at least one home match in this two-week period according to the schedule announced on Tuesday.
IPL released the schedule for the first two weeks in which 17 matches will be played at eight venues. The rest of the schedule will be released after the announcement of Lok Sabha elections 2019 dates.
The official statement of IPL said, “IPL releases the schedule of the first two weeks (17 matches) of the VIVO IPL 2019 Season. These are still subject to the announcement of the Lok Sabha 2019 election dates. Once these have been released BCCI will address any issues with the first two weeks and will also prepare a schedule for the remainder of the season working with the local authorities around the polling dates”
