JAIPUR: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday stressed upon making the MSME sector stronger for faster economic progress. He said that more than 6 lakh MSME industries are established in Rajasthan and there are more than 1.35 lakh exporters here.

Gehlot was addressing the MSME Conclave and Closing Ceremony under Invest Rajasthan Summit-2022 organized at JECC, Sitapura on Saturday.

He said that his sector has the most employment opportunities. The state government has taken many policy decisions to promote MSMEs with this thought in mind. He said that the future of MSMEs in the region is safe and bright.

He said that we are developing such an environment in the region in which industries can be established in every sector, increasing the employment opportunities for people with all types of skills. The state government stands with the investors.

Gehlot also said that understanding the importance of MSMEs in the state, their needs and their difficulties, the MSME Act was enacted in 2019, which proved to be a boon. In the budget of the year 2022-23, under this act, MSMEs have increased the exemption from 3 years to 5 years with the approval, permission, and inspection of the government. He said that important decisions were taken to provide relief to MSMEs from the financial loss they suffered during Covid-19. Various exemptions were provided through the amnesty scheme.

The Chief Minister said that 20% of the country’s oil comes from Rajasthan. There are also possibilities of gas here. A petrochemical complex is being developed in an area of ​​383 km near the refinery at Pachpadra.

“We have also sent a proposal to the central government. More than 150 MSMEs and other industries will be established here and youth will get employment. In this way, Pachpadara is becoming a major center of investment,” he said.

In the MSME Conclave, entrepreneurs shared their thoughts on the topic ‘Growth Strategy: Thinking Big-Thinking Smart’. The session was moderated by Kunal Sood.
