Jaipur: The plans to build another cricket ground in Jaipur received a shot in the arm as the JDA has issued an allotment letter for the project near Chonp village. The International Cricket Stadium is being developed by the Rajasthan Cricket Academy. The stadium will feature sophisticated facilities for organizing international cricket matches. The stadium will also provide budding cricketers the opportunity to practice with modern equipment. The project will be completed in five years.

Situated in Amer tehsil, Chonp village is about 35 km from Jaipur. “There ground will feature 11 cricket pitches, two practice grounds, a cricket academy building, hostel, paring, sports club, hotel, and a gym. It will be a cricket group of international standards and be fully equipped to organize international cricket matches,” said a JDA officer.

The officer added that the decision to allot the land for the cricket ground was taken in an empowered committee meeting presided over by UDH minister Shanti Dhariwal on February 14.

“The 40-hectare land has been allotted in JDA’s Knowledge City. The conditional allotment has been done at 30% of the DLC rate,” said the officer. The allotment letter was handed over to RCA president Vaibhav Gehlot by the JDA commissioner.

An RCA officer said the ground will provide budding crickets a platform to practice using modern equipment and facilities.
