‘Insulted’ by teacher, 17-year-old girl commits suicide

Jaipur: A 17-year-old girl studying in a private school committed suicide at her house in the Bindayaka area. In a suicide note, the girl alleged that she was harassed by her lady teacher who used to make inappropriate comments against her in front of others in the school. The family members of the girl have registered an FIR with Bhankrota police station.

The complainant, Bhagwan Ram Suthar who is the victim’s father, has approached the police, accusing the school staff of harassment. The family lives in Bajrang Vatika in Bindayka. His 17-year-old daughter Sangeeta studied in Class 11 at Lucky Public School in Bindayka. On Saturday afternoon, Sangeeta was alone at home. His mother had gone to get milk. When the mother returned, the room was locked from the inside. When she went inside after breaking the gate, Sangeeta was found hanging. A suicide note was also found with her.

In the alleged suicide note, Sangeeta wrote that she had given up everything, but the madam continued to insult her in front of the entire school. The father alleged that she could not bear the harassment by the school and was forced to take this step. He alleged that she felt ashamed due to the inappropriate remarks and committed suicide. He demanded justice for his daughter.

The body of the girl was handed over to the family members after a postmortem examination on Sunday. The police have launched an investigation.
