IAS, RAS suspended for irregularities in distribution of wheat

Jaipur: Following complaints of gross irregularities in the public distribution of wheat – meant for below poverty line (BPL) people, the Rajasthan government suspended an IAS officer, Nirmala Meena and RAS officer Jagmohan Singh along with three other officials. An ACB investigation is going on.
The department of personnel issued orders suspending Nirmala Meena who was deputed as district supply officer (DSO) in Jodhpur. Others who were suspended include Jodhpur, rural DSO Suresh Dutt.
Nirmala Meena is a promote IAS officer. She was posted as DSO Jodhpur six times during her tenure as an administrative officer.
Jagmohan Singh has been deputed in Udaipur since June, 2002. According to the suspension orders issued by the DoP, there were several complaints against the two officers.
ACB on Wednesday seized records from more than 30 PDs dealers in Rajsamand district. Searches were carried out at ration shops in Chittorgath and Pratapgarh also. Records were seized from FCI godown and wholesalers. The ACB is also investigating complaints of PDS wheat being sold to private flour mills in Jodhpur.
