I-T officer’s friend arrested in Munesh murder case
A joint of Jaipur and Vadodara police arrested Pravendra from Bhavnagar in Gujarat where he had been hiding since his name cropped up in the murder.
Jaipur: The police have arrested one Pravendra Sharma, the friend of Income Tax inspector Lokesh Choudhary in connection with the brutal murder of the latter’s wife Munesh. Pravendra was an accomplice in the murder, police said. The role of a girl who had an illicit relationship with Lokesh is also under scanner.
A joint of Jaipur and Vadodara police arrested Pravendra from Bhavnagar in Gujarat where he had been hiding since his name cropped up in the murder. The police are bringing Pravendra to Jaipur and will interrogate him to collaborate the story told to the police by Lokesh.
Munesh was preparing for competitive examination and was staying in Bapu Nagar area of Jaipur. Lokesh, a resident of Kathumar in Alwar, had an illicit relationship with a girl and decided to get rid of his wife. He asked Pravendra to go to Jaipur and bring Munesh to Vadodara. As soon as she reached Lokesh’s rented house in Vadodara, Pravendra gagged her, while Lokesh strangled her to death.
Lokesh buried the body in a 6-feet deep pit that had already been dug up in the backyard of the duplex.
Sources said that the role of the girl with whom Lokesh had an illicit affair is also being investigated.
The body of Munesh was recovered from the house by the police was taken to her native place, Sinsini in Bharatpur for last rites by her family members. People in Bharatpur took out a candle march demanding capital punishment for the husband.
