Honor Killing: 22-year-old man killed over love affair in Churu

Ranveer, a resident of Sadulpur village fell in love with a girl from the same village. As soon as the family members came to know about their love affair, they allegedly killed Ranveer with sticks and iron rods on Sunday.

Jaipur: In yet another case of honour killing in Rajasthan, the family members of a girl kidnapped her 22-year-old boyfriend identified as Ranveer and then brutally murdered him. When her family members came to know about their affair, they killed Ranveer.

The incident happened near Sadulpur village of the Churu district. The accused men are absconding after the police registered an FIR against them and booked them for homicide. Police have launched a search.

Ranveer, a resident of Sadulpur village fell in love with a girl from the same village. As soon as the family members came to know about their love affair, they allegedly killed Ranveer with sticks and iron rods on Sunday.

Ranveer had got married in 2017 and was preparing for selection in the army.

According to the FIR lodged by Ranveer’s brother Surendra Meghwal, Ranveer was sleeping near the cow shelter at his house on Saturday. Some villagers identified as Mohanlal, Budhram, Pawan, Chanan, Rohtash, Krishna, Girdhari, Ratan and Vidhya came to their house around 2 am and dragged Ranveer to Mohanlal’s house.

The accused men then allegedly started to beat Ranveer brutally with sticks and iron rods. They didn’t stop until he was dead. Ranveer’s family members tried hard to stop the men but in vain. Ranveer died on the spot.

The accused men managed to flee from the village before the case was registered with the police station. Police are recording statements of other villagers and the family members of the couple.

Further investigation is going on.
