History-sheeter shot dead at restaurant near Chomu; no headway in probe

Jaipur: A known criminal, identified as Sandeep Bugala alias Kishor Singh, was shot dead while he was having dinner at a restaurant on Jaipur-Sikar Highway near Hadauta Bypass in Chomu late on Sunday. Even two days after the incident, the police are yet to arrest the shooters. Police teams have been rushed to various places in search of suspects. The police are trying to find out which gang the shooters belonged to and who had animosity with Sandeep.

The shooters came in a Scorpior. Sandeep was having dinner at Tanwar Restaurant near Chomu in Jaipur. Four men came in the SUV and started firing in the air to scare away the restaurant employees and other customers. They then fired at Sandeep. He sustained bullet injuries on his head and died on the spot. The shooters drove away. The gun fire created panic in the area.

Senior police officers rushed to the spot. Sandeep was taken to a nearby government hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.  

Police barricades were put up on Jaipur-Sikar highway and other exit routes, but there was no trace of the shooters till the reports last came in. Sandeep was a resident of Beawar area in Ajmer district.

Sources said that Sandeep was involved in some big property transactions in the recent past. He has many cases registered with Chomu police station.

“We are investigation who had animosity with him and if there was any gang involved,” said a senior police officer.
