History-sheeter Mahendra Godara murdered in Churu

His body was spotted at a bus stand in Churu.

Jaipur: In an apparent case of gang war, a known criminal, identified as Mahendra Godara was shot dead by unidentified man at Kadwasara bus stand near Churu late on Monday. Godara had more than 34 cases registered against with various police stations in Churu and Sikar districts.  He was a historysheeter.

The shootout has come at a time when tension is already simmering in the area following the police encounter of Anandpal Singh.

The incident took place late on Monday night. The police got information that a body was lying on the roadside at Kadwasara bus stand in Churu.

A police team was immediately rushed to the spot. The man was later identified as Mahendra Godara, a historysheeter and known criminal. Panic swept through the area as people came to know about the daredevil murder.

The body has been put in the mortuary of a government hospital for postmortem examination.

The police have not ruled out the possibility that the murder was a fall out of a gang rivalry.

The police are trying to identify those involved in the murder.

Police teams have been rushed to various places for further investigation. An FIR under section 302 of IPC pertaining to murder has been registered.

The police encounter of Anandpal Singh had also taken place in Malasar village of Churu district.
