Here’s how to report police-criminal nexus in Rajasthan; WhatsApp helpline launched

Jaipur: Rajasthan police headquarters (PHQ) has launched WhatsApp helpline numbers where people can complain about nexus of cops and criminals. The people can also complain via email. The step has been taken after the cops-criminal nexus in Kota caused a major embarrassment to the state police. The nexus was exposed after the murder of a known criminal in Kota.

“The people can share videos or any evidence they have about the nexus of policemen or police officials with criminals. These WhatsApp helpline numbers has been launched in all the police districts of Rajasthan,” said a senior police officer.

For Jaipur police commissionerate, the WhatsApp helpline number for complaining about such policemen or officials is 7300363636.

Last month, a known criminal of Kota – identified as Ranveer Singh Choudhary was shot dead outside a stadium in Kota. It was suspected that a rival gang was involved in this broad day light murder. Some videos surfaced which showed connivance of some policemen with the criminals affiliated with the gang suspected of the murder.

Five policemen were suspended after a preliminary probe. Police officials said that some of these policemen may be expelled from the service after the competition of the interdepartmental investigation.

“These helpline numbers have been launched so that people can complain about policemen who have ties with criminals in the state. We are adopting a zero-tolerance policy against such policemen. Any evidence shared by the public will be evaluated and a strict action will be taken if the complaint was found true,” said the officer.
