Heavy rains in Rajasthan: Flood-like situation in several districts

Jaipur: Heavy rains in several districts of Rajasthan have thrown life out of gear. The administration is battling with flood-like situation in some areas – particularly in Hadauti region. The met department has issued an alert of heavy rains over the next 48 hours.
In the four districts of Hadauti including Kota and Baran, the rivers are overflowing and several roads are closed. The water clogging is being reported in many low lying areas.
There is flood-like situation in Kaithoon where the water has inundated residential colonies. The people are stuck inside their homes. The rain water has flooded most homes, forcing the district collector to seek the army’s help. The team of NDRF and SDRF have been roped in to rescue people.
Water clogging is causing traffic jams in Jaipur where it rained intermittently throughout the day on Thursday. Heavy rains affected normal life in many low lying areas including Jawahar Nagar, many Walled City colonies, Malviya Nagar, Adarsh Nagar and Rajapark.
The people celebrated Raksha Bandhan and Independence Day on Thursday. Many people visited the picnic spots in and around the city including Nahargarh, Ramgarh, Amer and Samod to enjoy the pleasant weather.
The administration has advised people to exercise caution when heading out of their homes and avoid low lying areas.
The met department said that heavy rains will be reported in several districts over the next 48 hours.
