JAIPUR: The Special Operations Group (SOG) has arrested Shersingh Meena, the absconding mastermind and Vice Principal implicated in the Senior Teacher Recruitment Examination paper leak case. Meena, who has been on the run since his name surfaced in the investigation, is accused of selling the exam paper to Bhupendra Saran for Rs 1 crore.

Shersingh Meena, a resident of Daula, Chaumun, Jaipur, is employed at a government school in Abu Road. The police had been conducting continuous raids to apprehend him since his involvement was revealed during the interrogation of Bhupendra Saran, another key player in the scandal who is currently in jail. Saran confessed to purchasing four exam papers from Meena.

The state government had announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh each for information leading to the arrest of the two absconding suspects, Suresh Dhaka and Anil alias Sher Singh, in connection with the paper leak case. The jailed suspect, Bhupendra Saran, disclosed during questioning that he had acquired the exam paper from Shersingh Meena, a resident of Chaumu, Jaipur.

Following this transaction, the paper was sold to Suresh Dhaka, who, with the assistance of his brother-in-law Suresh Vishnoi, sold it to candidates for Rs 5 lakh each. Significant revelations in the case are expected following Meena’s arrest, including details about who provided the senior teacher recruitment paper to him in the first place. The ongoing investigation may uncover additional high-profile individuals involved in the scandal.

Anil Meena alias Shersingh Meena’s son, Gopal Meena, a resident of Dola’s Bas in Chaumun, Jaipur, has been estranged from his village for about five years. His two brothers hold government positions, and a younger brother operates a grocery store in the village. Shersingh Meena’s mother and younger brother continue to reside in the village, although Meena himself has not visited for several years.
