Gogamedi murder: Schools remain shut in Jaipur

JAIPUR: After the murder Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, schools and markets in Jaipur remained shut. Protests were organized across the state, with supporters of Gogamedi blocking roads and pelting stones at buses at some places.
In Jaipur, a group of protesters formed outside Metro Mass Hospital. They announced a complete shutdown in Jaipur on Wednesday. In response to this announcement, the organizations of private schools decided to keep the schools shut. The parents received messages from the schools of their wards late Tuesday night that the school would remain closed due to the tense situation. The emergency services remained operational.
In Churu, Gogamedi supporters pelted stones at a bus, blocking the road and causing chaos among passengers. In Kumbhalgarh, the market was closed in protest of the murder. Police were deployed to the scene to try and calm the situation, but the roads remained blocked.
Similar protests broke out in Sadulpur, Churu, where the main road from Sadulpur to Sidhmukh was blocked in village Chainpura Bada. Passengers on a Roadways bus from Hanumangarh depot were forced to abandon their luggage and flee after stone pelting. The police arrived later and attempted to pacify the crowd, but the road remains closed.
