Jaipur: Traffic congestion is increasing in Jaipur with each passing day. Even before you leave your home, you are worried about being stuck in traffic jams. The city traffic department has launched ‘SMS Alert’ service using which you can get information about traffic through text messages.
In order to get text message traffic alert on mobile, you have to take a few simple steps:
- Type an SMS – RJ TPSUB – and send it to 51969.
This is all you need to do. You will become a subscriber to the SMS Alert service. You will keep getting following information on your cellphone:
- The condition of traffic on particular roads
- Suggestions about alternative routes
- Alerts when the traffic jam clears up
- Traffic diversions due to festival and on special occasions

“We had launched this service in the past, but it went defunct due to some technical problems. We have reintroduced this service. It’s a very useful service that can help you avoid traffic blockades and congestions,” said DCP traffic Lovely Katiyar said.
