Jaipur: Gone are the days when people had to run from pillar to post to get the copy of first information report (FIR) registered with police stations in Rajasthan. You can now download the copy of an FIR online. Here are the few simple steps you have to take:
Visit https://citizen.rajpolice.gov.in on Mozilla Firefox web browser
Click on the link – dekhen prathmiki (view FIR)
Create a user ID and register yourself
Log in using your user ID and password. Now you can download the copy of a FIR by providing the FIR number or other necessary details.
You can also visit Rajasthan police’s website police.rajasthan.gov.in and click on CCTNS Citizen Portal’s View FIR link to get the copy.
DGP Rajasthan Ajit Singh said that a total of 106000 FIRs have been uploaded on the website till August.
“This will help us comply with the Supreme Court’s order requiring us to provide citizens with FIR. People should take advantage of the facility of online download of FIR now,” said Singh.
He added that FIR related to sexual offenses, POSCO Act, sensitive issues, insurgency, terrorism and matters of related nature would not be published online.
“It is a big step towards bringing transparency in policing,” said Singh.
State Crime Record Bureau (SCRB) ADG Kapil Garg said that many facilities including verification of domestic help, character certificate, verification of tenants, employee verification and complaints will be made available online on CCTNS Citizen portal in the near future.
