Jaipur: While Masala Chowk has become a favorite destination for foodies in Jaipur, there is yet another reason for you to visit the place this Sunday.

The first ever musical evening will be organized at the open theater of Masala Chowk on Sunday. JDA has distributed nearly 1000 passes for the event and in the attendance will be many prominent people including Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje.

Only those who have passes will be able to attend the event. The passes have been distributed to only VIPs such as MPs, MLAs and bureaucrats. But people will be allowed to visit Masala Chowk for enjoying the snacks at its various kiosks. Delhi-based singer Prateek Kuhad will entertain the event participants.

The decision to allow only VIPs to attend the event has not gone down well with many Jaipurites.

“It’s the first open air theater event at Masala Chowk. They should have allowed food lovers to attend the event,” said Mohneesh Prajapat, a resident of Choda Rasta.

The Jaipur development authority (JDA) spent nearly Rs 4.40 crore on the construction and development of Masala Chowk. The city’s most famous food venders have been allotted kiosks.

The place has become now so popular that the JDA recently decided to make visitors pay entry fee.

The place at Ram Niwas Garden boasts of an open air theater, path-way and 26 kiosks.
