First-ever charter booking for Palace on Wheels: 41 Australian tourists pay Rs 1.30 crore

It is for the first time that a group of tourists has booked all the cabins of Palace on Wheels. POW has received its first ever charter booking. The group will travel to places including Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Agra over a week. The tour started from Delhi and will end in Delhi.

Jaipur: Luxury train, Palace on wheels (PoW), has added one more achievement to its book of popularity. A group of 41 Australian tourists have booked all the 41 cabins and 82 seats of the luxury train, Palace on wheels. The booking generated revenue of Rs 1.30 crore.

The Australian tourists who booked the PoW are the members of worldwide rail journey group. They reached Jaipur from Delhi on Wednesday. They received a grand and warm welcome upon their arrival in Jaipur.

According to General Manager of PoW Pradeep Bohra, it is for the first time that a group of tourists has booked all the cabins of Palace on Wheels. POW has received its first ever charter booking. The group will travel to places including Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Agra over a week. The tour started from Delhi and will end in Delhi.

In the upcoming month, the booking price for POW will increase from Rs 36,000 to Rs 46,000 for double occupancy and Rs 62,000 per tour/per night for single occupancy.

The Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) has been operating the luxury train for the last 36 years. A lot of renovations were undertaken this year. The Journey of PoW this season started on September 5 and will continue till April.

POW has all the luxurious amenities including a spa and a gym. The other luxury trains of the country like Maharaja, Deccan Odyssey, Golden Chariot and HPOW does not run from October to March. Palace on wheels is the only luxury train which completes its 34 rounds between September and April.
