Firing in Sikar: SHO, constable shot dead in Fatehpur town

Jaipur: A station house officer (SHO), identified as Mukesh Kanungo and a constable – Rampraksh, were shot dead by criminals in Fatehpur town of Sikar district on Saturday night.
Two had intercepted a vehicle and were searching it when criminals opened fire. The police have launched a massive hunt for two criminals – Ajay Choudhary and Jagdeep alias Dhankar for the shocking murder of on-duty police officer and the constable.

A car was intercepted. The police team started searching the vehicle, but the criminals suddenly opened firing. Bullets pierced Mukesh Kanoongo’s neck. Constable Ramprakash sustained bullet injuries on this chest. Both were rushed to a hospital where they died while undergoing treatment.
The criminals sped away from the spot after firing.
SP Sikar Pradeep Mohan Sharma and other senior police officers in the district rushed to the spot and ordered a search for the criminals.
The prime suspects are Ajay Choudhary and Jagdeep. Some people have been rounded up, sources said.
The news of the shooting and death of the SHO and constable shocked the police department. The incident once again brought to fore the prevalence of organized crime in Shekhawati region in Sikar.
Police officials said that the criminals will be arrested soon.
Heavy police force has been deployed in Fatehpur town and known criminals of the area are being rounded up for interrogation.
