Firing at Bundi court premises: Police suspect gangwar

Jaipur: An under-trial prisoner sustained serious bullet injuries when unidentified people barged into the Bundi district courts premises and opened fire at him indiscriminately on Tuesday. Panic spread across the premises as the man got hit with bullets.
According to the police, Rakesh Jat alias Pampu, lodged in the Bundi district jail in connection with a kidnapping case, was brought to the court in Bundi for hearing. Three men came there on a bike and opened fire. Three bullets hit Jat as other people in the premises ran for cover. After this, the assailants fled from the spot. Superintendent of Police Samandar Singh and police station in charge Ramanath Singh soon reached the spot and took control of the situation.
Police have recovered 3 empty cartridges from the incident site. Reportedly Subhash Singh, who had filed a case of kidnapping, was also assassinated in Haryana by the members of a gang. Since then, Subhash’s family was on a lookout for an opportunity. The police are also looking at the attackers by linking them with this incident.
Subhash Singh, a resident of Badgaon in the Dablana police station area, had filed a report on November 15, 2015. According to the report, on a pretext of showing land, his brother Ranveer Singh was kidnapped. This happened after Sonipat resident and a few others visited their house to negotiate a deal about land. Police had registered cases against 9 people and arrested 8 of them. Rakesh, a resident of Panipat is a notorious gangster against whom many cases of loot, arson, murder, and kidnapping have been registered.
