JAIPUR: The city police has registered an FIR against the management of two hotels in the Sindhi Camp area for not updating guest information on the e-portal recently launched by the police commissionerate.

The police officials said that the hotels now have to upload all the details collected from guests to the e-portal, but since some hotels are not taking it seriously, the police have initiated legal action in this regard.

The two hotels are Hotel Vikram and Hotel Sai Kripa located in Vivek Nagar. The operators of the two hotels did not upload the information of the guests on the e-portal run by the police commissionerate.

“The hotels had been instructed to provide real-time information about guests. Earlier, the police had to rely on the records submitted by the hotels, but it left room for delays in investigations. So we launched an e-portal where the hotels have to upload the guest information in real-time,” said a police officer.

The officer added that some hotels were still not taking this seriously. “We have started taking action against the management of these hotels,” said the officer.

He added the scheme was launched when it came up that many criminals from other states take shelter in Jaipur while on run from the police of other states.
