Financial assistance to widows for daughter’s wedding increased to Rs 40,000 in Rajasthan
Earlier the amount of financial assistance was Rs 20,000.

Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has increased the amount of financial assistance given to graduate daughters of widows to Rs 40,000. The assistance will be given by the state government’s social justice and welfare department. Earlier the amount was Rs 20,000.
Social justice and welfare minister Arun Chaturvedi said single mothers faced many financial difficulties when providing education to their children. The state government has increased the assistance given to graduate daughters of widows under the state government’s ‘Sahyog Aur Uphar Yojana’.
Daughters who are aged 18 years or more will get a financial assistance Rs 20,000 in case they have not studied secondary education. The amount was earlier Rs 10,000.
Daughters with secondary education will be granted a financial assistance of Rs 30,000, increased from Rs 20,000.
Girls getting married after April 1, 2017 can avail the benefits of increased financial assistance.
