Jaipur: Poornima University recently hosted a distinguished session on filmmaking and storytelling, featuring Academy Award-winning producer Marc Baschet and renowned Bangladeshi actress and screenwriter Sohana Saba. The event offered students rare insights into the art and craft of cinema.
Marc Baschet, celebrated for his work on the Oscar-winning No Man’s Land and the acclaimed The Lunchbox, shared his experiences of creating films that resonate globally. Sohana Saba, known for her impactful roles and contributions to South Asian cinema, discussed the challenges and creative processes in her career as an actress, producer, and screenwriter.
The session delved into the technical and creative aspects of filmmaking, encouraging students to view cinema as a medium of storytelling and cultural expression. “Having icons like Marc Baschet and Sohana Saba here was transformative for our students,” said Dr. Jitendra Sharma, Dean of the Faculty of Design at PU. “Such opportunities inspire and broaden their horizons.”
