Fear of Ransomware virus reaches Jaipur: JCA shuts down servers

With no access to public records, people face the burnt.

Jaipur: The scare of ransomware has reached Jaipur. ATMs are not the only victims, even Jaipur development authority (JDA) has surrendered. The civic body shut down its servers fearing ransomware attack which has panicked the entire world.

IG experts were roped in to take back up of entire database so in case of an attack, the records could be restored. The work on back up went on till late night.

JDA avoided using the Internet.

JDA said that the online work will be resorted after taking all necessary security precautions.

People faced problem as most of the records and projects have been made available online by the JDA.

People and employees at JDA could not access the record.

As soon as the reports of a fresh Ransomware attack came in, the civic body’s IT experts issued a warning and JDA took the precautionary steps.

Many ATMs have been also shut down.
