Eyes donated by Jaipur accident victims to light up lives of many blind persons

Jaipur: Palak Sharma (name changed) vows that she would become an IAS officer. Palak was visually-impaired since birth, but she is now able to see the world through the eyes of Avantika Sharma, one of the five victims killed in a tragic road accident near Chomu House Circle five days ago.

The family members donated the eyes of Avantika and her brother Nitish Sharma who was also killed in the accident. Following this donation, Corina transplant has already lit up the lives of three people.

The family members have decided to donate the eyes of Roshni Sharma and her sister Jyoti Sharma also. Roshni was on her way to Nahargarh with her fiancé Rahul Sharma when a salt-laden truck fell over their car on June 6. Besides the couple, Jyoti, Avantika and Nitish who were also in the car were killed in the mishap.

Palak has completed his senior secondary education. She dreams of becoming an IAS officer, but her blindness was a major hindrance.

“I would now be able to see the world through the eyes of Avantika. I have heard that she wanted to become a successful fashion designer. She would achieve her dreams through my eyes now,” Palak said.

The family members of the victims said that though their dear ones have been snatched away from them, their eyes would give these people a chance to see the world.
