Ex-NSUI office-bearer arrested in VDO paper leak case

Jaipur: Sirohi police has arrested two men – one said to be associated with NSUI – in connection with the village development officer (VDO) recruitment exam paper leak case. One of the accused identified as Prakash Godara, is said to be a general secretary of NSUI. The ABVP accused NSUI and Congress of being involved in the paper leak. The BJP-backed student organization demanded an unbiased probe into the matter.
The exams were conducted on December 27 and 28. A senior ABVP officer bearer said that Rajasthan has become a hub of paper leaks and cheating in exams. He said that some Congress leaders in connivance with NSUI leaders are leaking papers in competitive exams. After REIT, Patwari, RAS, the examination of the VDO was rigged, he said adding that it has been proved with the arrest of the state general secretary of NSUI. In such a situation, this matter should be investigated and those responsible should be brought to book so that unemployed youths of the state could get justice.
NSUI state spokesperson Ramesh Bhati told media persons that in July 2020, when all the executive committees of the organization were dissolved, Prakash Godara was removed from the post of General Secretary. So the accused man has no association with the organization.
Prakash Godara is said to be the kingpin of the paper leak gang. He had allegedly sold answer sheets to the candidates for Rs 15 lakh each. According to preliminary investigation, the names of at least three candidates who bought the answer sheets have come to the fore. The gang was busted after a dummy candidate, identified as Indubala, was caught in Sirohi. She revealed the name of Godara to the police.
