Engineering student shot dead by friend in Churu

Jaipur: An engineering student, identified as Aslman , was shot dead by his friend in Churu town of Rajasthan on Saturday night.
The police have launched an investigation into the murder. They said the accused, one Ramesh Khateek, called the victim to a place and then suddenly took out a gun. He then opened fire and escaped. A search has been launched for the accused.
The body of the victim was handed over to family members after a postmortem examination.
According to the police, the incident took place in ward number – 38 of Churu. Aslam and Sameer, residents of Ward Numer – 2 were friends of Ramesh. The latter called the duo to Raiger Basti on Saturday evening. They smoked. Ramesh suddenly took out a gun and fired at Aslman. The victim sustained bullet injuries on his head. He collapsed to the ground and started bleeding profusely. He died on the spot.
The police have rounded up Sameer, but Ramesh managed to escape. The police said a dispute over payment of money could be the motive behind the murder, but the investigation was still on.
