Jaipur: You won’t have to take your water or electricity bill to an e-Mitra vender in Jaipur. Nearly 40,000 emitra counters will be connected to BSNL CRD billing system, enabling people to pay water and electricity bills after telling the vender their registered mobile or landline number. BSNL is currently working with the Rajasthan government’s department of information and technology (DOIT) to launch this scheme.
People currently have to take the hard copy of their bills and show them to emitra venders when making payment.
The announcement was made by senior BSNL officials on Saturday. They were addressing media persons after launching emitra counters at BSNL exchange officers in C-Scheme and Ashok Marg. Emitra counters will also be opened at Vidhyadhar Nagar, Bajaj Nagar and Sanganeri Gate from the next week. People will be able to deposit bills at these counters from 9 am to 7 pm.
