Eminent pediatrician and JK Lone superintendent Dr. RK Gupta passes away

JAIPUR: Dr. R.K. Gupta, Superintendent of JK Lone Hospital in Jaipur and a renowned pediatrician, passed away late on Friday.
Dr. Gupta had been admitted to the Neuro Surgery ICU of Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Hospital for the last one and a half months after suffering a brain stroke. The news of his demise has been met with condolences from people associated with the health sector.
According to the doctors at SMS Hospital, Dr. Gupta had suffered a brain stroke on the night of February 2, following which his relatives brought him to the hospital. Upon his arrival, the neurosurgery department conducted two operations on him. However, he fell into a coma and did not regain consciousness despite being treated for an extended period of time.
In the last few days, Dr. Gupta had been shifted from the Neurosurgery ICU to the General Medics ICU, but unfortunately, he did not recover. The doctors had informed his family members that he had become brain-dead late last evening.
Dr. Gupta was appointed as the superintendent of JK Lone Hospital in Jaipur by the state government on September 30 last year. He was a senior pediatrician who specialized in treating gastro-related diseases in children. Additionally, he was a senior professor in the Department of Pediatrics at SMS Medical College. His contribution to the healthcare sector and his loss will be deeply felt.
