Election campaigning to end in Rajasthan at 6 pm for forth phase of Lok Sabha polls

Jaipur: Election campaigning will come to an halt for the first phase of the election in Rajasthan at 6 pm on Saturday. In the first phase, 13 constituencies of the state will go to polls on April 29. The voting will take place between 7 am and 6 pm.
Chief election officer Anand Kumar said that the candidates will be barred from taking out public rallies and campaigning with the help of cinema, any electronic equipment and social media. They will also not be allowed to campaign by organizing music festival, plays or any other type of entertainment program.
The BJP has pitched MP Ramcharan Bohra against Congress candidate Jyoti Khandelwal on Jaipur seat and former Olympic player and BJP MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has been pitched against former Olympic player Congress’s Krishna Poonia on Jaipur ruler seat.
The dates for upcoming Lok Sabha Elections were announced by Election Commission of India. Polling in Rajasthan on 25 seats will be held on April 29 (Phase 4) and May 6 (Phase 5). The results will be announced on May 23.
