Jaipur: Rajasthan was ranked number 9 in the national ranking of Ease of Doing Business in 2017. The state was ranked at eighth place last year. The slide was primarily due to the poor feedback received from beneficiaries.

The Union Ministry of Finance on Monday released the Business Reform Action Plan – 2017. The overall performance of Rajasthan was 95.66%. Andhra Pradesh was ranked number one with 98.42% followed by Telangana, Haryana, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, MP and Karnataka. In the Reform Evidence category, Rajasthan was on the top of the list with 99.46%, but its overall ranking slid to 9th place due to poor feedback. Rajasthan secured just 64% in this category.

Rajasthan’s ranking has been falling for the past three consecutive years. It was ranked number – 6 in 2015 and number – 8 in 2016.

A senior officer of the Rajasthan Industries department said that the government is trying to improve the feedback by encouraging all the departments to connect with Single Window Feedback System.

“We are trying to improve the land reforms which is essential for good feedback,” said the officer.
