Dungapur CMHO Rajesh Sharma arrested for taking bribe of Rs 20,000
One Gyanprakash Sharma approached the ACB complaining against Rajesh Kumar Sharma, who is posted as CMHO, Dungarpur. Sixty-one year-old Gyanprakash had recently retired from the post of food security officer.

Jaipur: Dungarpur chief medical and health officer (CMHO) Rajesh Sharma was arrested after he was caught taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 on Monday. An ACB team led by Add SP Gulab Singh trapped the officer and booked him under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. CMHO Rajesh Kumar Sharma was taking the bribe to approve employee benefits provided at the time of retirement to an employee, senior ACB officers said. CMHO Rajesh Sharma is a resident of Janata Colony in Adarsh Nagar area of Jaipur.
Gulab Singh, Add SP ACB said that one Gyanprakash Sharma approached the ACB with a corruption complaint against Rajesh Sharma, who is posted as CMHO, Dungarpur. Sixty-one year-old Gyanprakash had recently retired from the post of food security officer.
“In order to approve his retirement benefits including GPF, gratuity, computed leave, May 2018 salary, benefits of seventh pay commission and two months of arrear, CMHO Rajesh Sharma was demanding a bribe of Rs 20,000. Gyanprakash Sharma had requested Sharma to sign the files related to employee benefits, when he asked for the bribe,” said Gulab Singh.
After Gyanprakash approached the ACB, the complaint was verified and a trap was laid, Singh said adding that the complainant negotiated with the 43-year-old CMHO, but the latter didn’t agree to lower the bribe amount.
When Gyanprkash, a resident of Sevar in Bharatpur, went to Sharma’s office to hand over the bribe, the CMHO asked him to put the money in a file.
An ACB team arrested the CMHO.
“Searches are being carried out at the house, office and other belonging to CMHO Rajesh Sharma. Further investigation is going on. He has been put under arrest,” said Singh.
