Dr Iqbal Bharti injured in robbery attempt in Vaishali Nagar dies

JAIPUR: Dr Iqbal Bharti, who was attacked by robbers at his house in Vaishali Nagar last month, succumbed to injuries. He died while undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon.
He was attacked by a gang of robbers at his house on September 19. The maid who worked at his house had committed the robbery with other accomplices. The robbers attacked the doctor in his sleep. He was seriously injured.
The police have arrested six people in connection with the robbery, while two others are still at large.
The last remains of Dr Iqbal Bharti were handed over to his family members after a postmortem examination. The family members brought the dead body to Jaipur on Wednesday afternoon. The postmortem examination was conducted at Kanwatia Hospital in Jaipur.
Dr Iqbal Bharti had been rushed to SMS Hospital in critical condition, but his condition deteriorated, the family took him to Medanta Hospital for further treatment. Police officials said he died while undergoing treatment on Wednesday morning.
The accused robbers will now be booked under various sections of IPC related to murder and dacoity.
The house where the robbery took place is located in Hanuman Nagar Extension. Dr Iqbal Bharati’s wife Nasreen Bharti is also a doctor. The robbers tied them up and decamped with cash and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees. The robbery was carried out by Anu, the maid who had been sacked by the doctor couple a few days before.
