Doctor, nurse arrested by Rajasthan PCPNDT cell for sex determination

Jaipur: Rajasthan PCPNDT cell arrested a doctor and a government nurse in different cases of sex determination of fetus.
The doctor, identified as Dinesh Thenua was arrested in connection with a decoy operation carried out at Mathura in Uttar Pradesh on August 3, 2016. According to PCPNDT cell officials, Dr Dinesh was the kingpin of the racket.
In another case, a government nurse – identified as Manju Devi, a resident of Hathras in Uttar Pradesh – was arrested after she met a pregnant woman working as decoy for the PCPNDT cell – in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district and took her to a registered sonography center in Mathura to conduct a sex determination test.
“Manju conducted a normal sonography test and in the name of giving the report, she informed the woman the sex of the fetus,” said an officer.
The woman paid Rs 10,500 for the test.
After getting a signal from the woman, the PCPNDT team from Rajasthan arrested the nurse and recovered the money from her.
The decoy woman was from Bharatpur.
