Depressed over wife eloping after 2 months of marriage, man commits suicide

Jaipur: A man committed suicide by suicide by jumping in front of a moving train near Malpura Gate in Jaipur. The man was allegedly troubled over his wife stealing all the jewellery and cash he had and eloping after two months of their marriage. The police recovered a suicide note in which he stated that he was taking the extreme step as his wife cheated on him.
According to police, the 30-year-old man, identified as Sitaram Gurjar, a resident of Nainwan Bundi, lived in the Shyam Vihar area of Pratap Nagar. He worked as a supervisor in a factory located in Sitapura. About two months ago, he had a love marriage with 28-year-old Sona, a resident of Diyali Bundi. After which the husband and wife were living here. On May 26, his wife had left home.
Sitaram jumped in front of the train near railway lines in Sanganer. He died on the spot. He was identified when the police called up the number that he had written in the suicide note found in his pocket.
“My wife Sona Gurjar has betrayed me. She cheated so I have decided to end my life. Do not harass my family members, there is no fault of the family members in this. I trusted her and she cheated me, so I am leaving the world,” he wrote in the suicide note.
The note further stated that Rs 1.30 lakh were in the bank account and Rs 1 lakh were in the company’s provident fund, which should be given to my family.
The deceased’s brother Banshilal has filed a case of abetment to suicide against Sitaram’s wife Sona. On May 26, Sitaram went to the factory. Sona allegedly ran away with the jewellery, Rs 2 lakh cash and two mobiles kept in the house.
