Death threat to Rameshwar Dudi: Probe handed over to SOG; security stepped up

Jaipur: After two men were arrested from Haryana for conspiring to murder former leader of opposition in Rajasthan assembly and ex-MP from Bikaner Rameshwar Dudi, the probe into the murder threat was handed over to the Rajasthan special operations group (SOG). The security of Dudi has also been stepped up keeping in view the threat.
The arrests were made by Bikaner police; however, sources said that there was threat to Dudi’s life even after the arrests, so a more extensive probe has been ordered. The investigation will be conducted by SOG.
“Chief minister Ashok Gehlot was concerned about Dudi’s security following which it was stepped up. As per the directions of the chief minister, the SOG will probe the case,” said a senior police officer.
Dudi had demanded for security following the arrests. Bikaner police had exposed the conspiracy earlier this month and arrested two men, identified as Shyamsundar Bishnoi and Devendra Singh alias Beda alias Dev. Duo was arrested in Ellenabad area of Haryana. Shyam Sundar belongs to Bikaner, while Dev hails from Haryana. Two guns, eight cartridges and a bike were seized from their possession.
Shyam Sundar told the police that he had a case of rape registered against him with Bikaner police. Dudi was supporting the rape survivor and helping her family in the case so he wanted to kill him. The arrested duo conducted recee of Dudi’s house and other places belonging to him.
