COVID-19: Curfew imposed in pockets of Chitrakoot and C-Scheme in Jaipur

Jaipur: Curfew has been extended to some pockets of Chitrakoot and C-Scheme areas in Jaipur to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). The total number of COVID-19 cases had reached 336 in the city by Sunday afternoon.

In Chitrakoot area, curfew was imposed from Sanjay Nagar Colony to Dhanka Mandir – in the radius of nearly 2 km. Similarly, after a man tested positive in Dhuleshwar Garden area of C-Scheme, curfew was imposed in 1-km radius of the man’s house.

The police arrested nearly 20 people for violating lockdown and curfew guidelines in the city. Hundreds of vehicles have also been seized.

“Despite the lockdown, some people are not paying attention to the guidelines and venturing out of their homes for no reason. We have started taking legal action against these people because their negligence can put other at the risk of contracting coronavirus,” said a senior police officer.

The total number of cases in the state reached 796 with 96 new cases being reported on Sunday.

According to preliminary reports, a doctor posted in Mathura Das Mathur Hospital in Jodhpur has tested positive for the virus. He and his 10 family members have been quarantined.
