COVID-19 breaks all records in Rajasthan; 716 cases reported

Jaipur: Rajasthan reported the biggest spike so far in COVID-19 cases on Sunday. As many as 716 cases were reported in the state. Of them, 71 were reported in Jaipur. Jodhpur broke all records with 183 new cases in a single day. The number of active cases has also gone up at an alarming rate. There are 4357 active cases in the state now. The cumulative number of positive cases has gone up to 21,404.

  Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot has instructed the government officials to ensure that social distancing guidelines are followed strictly. He said that a legal action as per the law should be taken against the violators of the COVID-19 guidelines. In a review meeting at his residence on Monday, he instructed the officials to ensure compliance with quarantine guidelines. He said that a close watch should be kept on the people who are currently in home and institutional quarantines.

He said that the Rajasthan government has made elaborate arrangements to test and treat COVID-19 patients and the facilities are being upgraded with each passing day.
