Jaipur: The Rajasthan University has postponed all the exams that were scheduled to take place from March 19 to March 31. The decision has been taken as part the measures aimed at preventing the spread of Coronavirus. The state government has already imposed section 144 of CrPC, banning gathering of five or more people throughout Rajasthan.

The RU exams were to begin at 11 am on Thursday, but after the government imposed prohibitions on gathering of people, the university administration decided to cancel the exams till March 31.

The fact that three people including a couple and their 2-year-old daughter tested positive for the virus in Jhunjhunu has put the state government on its toes. The government has already imposed curfew in a 1 km radius of the places where Jhunjhunu couple was staying. However, officials fear that the damage may have already been done as after returning to Jhunjhunu from Italy, the couple had been visiting the markets and public places for the past 10 days. They have not been quarantined and more than 350 teams of healthworkers have been deployed in the area to contain the spread of the virus. The family lives in Mannagar area of Jhunjhunu. The teams are carrying out a door-to-door survey of all the households in the area to identify whether anyone was infected with the virus.

The government has advised people not to visited crowded places and stay home as much as possible.
