Cops bust more cheating gangs ahead of police exam, 12 arrested

Jaipur: Rajasthan police have busted two more gangs suspected to be involved in helping candidates to cheat in Rajasthan police constable exam – 2018 that is to be held on July 14 and July 15. One gang was busted in Sikar, while another in Alwar on Thursday.

Nine member of the gang active in Sikar area were arrested. Those arrested include the gang’s mastermind Sandeep Kumar and Mahaveer Jat who were promising candidates of guaranteed recruitment as police constable and charging them up to Rs 6 lakh each. Sources said that hundreds of admit cards have been seized from the possession of the accused men.

Three men were arrested in the Alwar bust. Alwar district’s Khairthal police arrested Omdutta Sharma and his two accomplices Bhagendra Jat and Manish Meghwal. It has come up during preliminary investigation that the trio had taken Rs 5-6 lakh from nearly 27 candidates in the name of helping them to cheat in the police exam. The cops have recovered a cash amount of Rs 10,000 and four mobile phones from their possession.

Earlier the police had arrested 11 members of a gang active in Jodhpur region. Those arrested included the brother of Jagdish Bishnoi who is wanted in multiple cases of paper leaks and cheating in exams.

Police are installing jammers and CCTVs at examination centers to prevent cheating during the exam which will be held across the state on Friday and Saturday.
