Compromise reached in Bansal Hospital attack case, accused released on bail

Jaipur: The deadlock in Bansal Hospital attack case came to an end on Wednesday. Almost 10 days after Dr Ajay Bansal, the owner of the hospital, was allegedly attacked by the family members of a patient who died while undergoing treatment, the two parties reached a compromise and withdrew police cases registered against each-other. A court released the three family members who were arrested in connection with the attack were released on bail.
Hundreds of private hospitals in Jaipur announced a strike on May 19 in protest of the alleged attack on Ajay Banasal.
“Both the parties reached a compromise, seeking no action against each-other. As they withdrew the cases, a metropolitan magistrate court released three persons – Jitendra Saini, Prabhu Narayan Saini and Suresh Saini on bail. The three had been arrested in connection with the attack,” said a police officer.
The family members had also registered a case of homicide not amounting to murder and negligence against Bansal. They withdrew the case.
Health minister Kalicharan Saraf had played a role of mediator between doctors and the family members and agreed them to reach a compromise.
One Ratanlal Saini, resident of Tonk Phatak in Adarsh Nagar area, was admitted in the hospital after he complained of chest pain. He died while undergoing treatment. The doctors alleged the family members went on rampage in the hospital and attacked Bansal with sharp-edged objects. Bansal sustained serious head injuries and got nearly 45 stiches. He was also attacked on the chest.
The city police booked Bansal hospital doctors for negligence and also registered an FIR against the family members allegedly involved in the attack on Ajay Bansal.
The cops arrested three family members in connection with the attack.
