JAIPUR: Indian oil and gas companies (IOCL, BPCL, HPCL) have revised the prices of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) in Jaipur. Effective today, the prices of cylinders for commercial use have been reduced, whereas domestic consumers will see no change.
The price of a 19 kg commercial gas cylinder has been reduced by Rs. 93 to Rs. 1710. This reduction comes after an Rs. 7 increase in June, making it the fourth consecutive month of fluctuating prices for commercial-use cylinders. On the other hand, the 14.2 kg gas cylinder for domestic use remains unchanged at Rs. 1106.50.
The Rajasthan government is offering domestic-use cylinders to Ujjwala and BPL connection holders at a subsidized rate of Rs. 500.
The government transfers the difference in the cylinder’s cost to their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) every month. In June, the state government successfully transferred a gas subsidy amount of Rs. 60 crore to 14 lakh beneficiaries’ accounts.
Rajasthan has more than 1.75 crore consumers of all three oil and gas companies. The fluctuating gas prices directly impact the pockets of these consumers.
The central government had discountinued the LPG subsidy since the lockdown commenced in April 2020. Before the lockdown, people used to receive a subsidy of Rs. 147 on cooking gas.
