Coaching student murder in Kota: Accused who stabbed Atul Singh to death arrested

The local residents who witnessed the horrifying murder rushed the victim to a hospital, but he couldn’t be saved. The cops arrested the accused, identified as Rahul Singh Bhati, within half an hour with the help of the residents.

Jaipur: A 17-year-old coaching student Atul Singh was stabbed to death by a youth when the victim didn’t allow the latter to play cricket with him in Mahaveer Nagar – III near Onkeshwar Park in Kota on Saturday evening.

The local residents who witnessed the horrifying murder rushed the victim to a hospital, but he couldn’t be saved. The cops arrested the accused, identified as Rahul Singh Bhati, within half an hour with the help of the residents. He was allegedly under influence of alcohol when he murdered Atual.

Atul was a resident of Devkhari area in Mathura of Uttar Pradesh. He was staying in paying guest facility in Sector – 1 of Mahaveer Nagar – 3. He was playing cricket with his friends in Onkeshwar Park when Rahul Singh Bhati, a resident of Shripura, came there. Rahul Singh was currently living in Mahaveer Nagar. Rahul asked Atul and his friends to let him play cricket with them. When they refused, Rahul got so furious that he took out a knife and stabbed Atul.

The accused then fled the spot, leaving Atul in a pool of blood. A crowd of local residents gathered on the spot. They informed the police following which a police team including SHO Neeraj Gupta and SI Ramswaroo rushed to the spot. Atul was taken to a hospital, but doctors couldn’t save him.

Local alleged that criminal activities have increased in the area due to lack of police patrolling. Local MLA Sandeep Sharma had inspected the area a few days ago and called up the police officials to step up police patrolling, but the cops didn’t pay heed, they alleged. There had been incidents of gang war between gangs of coaching students in Kota recently.
