Jaipur: Another coaching student has committed suicide in Kota. A 17-year-old girl student hanged herself  in her hostel room on Monday night.

The incident happened in Kunhadi area of Kota. The deceased Manisha Singh (17) was a native of Bihar. She was studying at a coaching center in Kunhadi, which houses a mini city with hostels and paying guest accommodations catering to the coaching institutes.

According to police, on Monday night between 8.30 pm to 9.00 pm Manisha’s hostelmates went to her room to ask her to join them for dinner. The room was locked and when Manisha didn’t respond, the girls called the Kunhadi police officials. Upon reaching the location, the police opened the door and found Manisha hanging from the fan. The young girl’s books were found lying all over the room.

The officials took the dead body to MBD Hospital for post-mortem. Police are still investigating the matter and aren’t sure about the reason behind this suicide. The girl’s family members have been informed about the incident. Sankalp Hostel, the place that witnessed this tragedy, is located in Landmark City in Kunhadi.

This is not the first time such an incident has happened in Kunhadi. More than 60 students have given up their lives mostly due to pressure of studies or failure. In 2016, 17 students killed themselves while at least 13 have committed suicides this year. A lot of cases of depression and suicides have also led to apprehension among parents.
