Jaipur: Police constable Sitaram has become an overnight hero and for good reasons.
He singlehandedly foiled the Rs 925 crore Axis Bank robbery attempt on Tuesday morning. Had the criminals been successful to rob the bank, it would have been the country’s biggest bank heist.
Sitaram has been receiving praise ever since his heroics came in public knowledge.
Even chief minister Vasundhara Raje gave a pat on his back by retweeting a tweet from IPS Association.
The IPS Association tweeted, “Constable #Sitaram – what an incredible presence of mind and valor to have this heist halted! You not only saved the amount of cash, but also become an icon and made each one of us proud. Well done and you have our best wishes”.
Constable Sitaram is a native of a small village – Baba Ki Bawadi, near Danta Ramgarh in Sikar district. His father, Todaram, is a labourer in Maharashtra and mother Prem Devi is a housewife.
Sitaram joined police force in 2015. He got married two years ago. He is the only son and completed his primary education from a government school in his village. He then graduated from a college in Rainwal and completed BEd.
