City Park in Mansarovar to be bigger than Central Park; 2.5 lakh people to benefit

Jaipur: There will soon be a new destination for joggers and health enthusiasts in the city. The Rajasthan government will develop City Park in Mansarovar which will be bigger in size even the Central Park. The park is being developed on a land between VT Road and Arawali Marg. The officials said that the park will be thrown open for the public within the next two years.

“Nearly 2.5 lakh people living in Mansarovar and other nearby colonies will have an easy access to the park. This will be a great addition to the area and we hope that it will become a favourite destination for people who love greenery and want to lead an active life,” said a senior Rajasthan Housing Development official.

He said that the park will feature nearly 10,000 plants and trees.

“The jogging track will be nearly 3 km and the internal walkway will be about 1.5 km. There will be CCTVs at all the six entrance and exit gates as well as the jogging tracks for monitoring and security,” said the officer.

The Central Park jogging track is nearly 4-km long.

UDH minister Shanti Dhariwal had announced the development of the park on December 4. “The project has got the nod from the chief minister. We will help of the local people and organizations in achieving our target of planting 10,000 trees before this monsoon season,” said the officer.
